Do I really get to drink gin at school?

Yes, you do.  As part of your experience, you will get to sample some of our own gins, in moderation as you will be operating a very hot still and we don’t want to be filling in any H&S and insurance forms.

How long should I allow for the experience?

Please allow 3 hours for the experience, maybe a bit longer as we do like to chat about what we do.

Do I need any knowledge or experience to do the distilling course? 

No, our distiller John will guide you through the whole process and will be available throughout to help.

Are there any age restrictions?

Yes, you must be over the age of 18 to participate.  We have a challenge 25 policy, so if you are lucky enough to look under 25 (we won’t hate you) but you will need to see some ID.

Are the classes wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the Distillery School is in a single storey building and is fully accessible.  There will also be an accessible workbench and still.

Do you have accessible toilets?

Yes, the Centre has accessible toilets.

What are the parking options for the Distillery?

There is ample free parking at the Centre with accessible parking too.

What are the transport options for getting to and from the Distillery?

Should anyone be driving there is ample free parking at the Centre. Alternatively, Border Buses run the a regular service, the 67 from
Berwick upon Tweed through Cornhill to Kelso and up as far as Galashiels

Will there be something to eat?

Yes, we will provide some locally sourced cold plates.  Cheese, meats and fish and bread, just to help keep body and soul together. 

What if I have food allergies?

Please do let us know in advance of any allergies, food and drink or any dietary requirements you may have, we can cater for these.

Will there be something to drink other thanGin?

Yes, for the drivers or abstainers we will have some soft drinks and hot drinks available.

Are there any hotels or B&Bs in the area?

Yes, in Cornhill on Tweed we are lucky enough to have the very comfortable Collingwood Arms Hotel: Home -The Collingwood Arms

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel your booking more than 7 days beforehand you will be offered a refund or a chance to change to a different date. If you cancel within 7 days of your booking you will not be eligible for a refund but an alternative date can be arranged.

If we have to cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances then a full refund will be offered and an alternative date can be arranged.
